I gotta say, I miss my drums.
"You never know what you've got till it's gone" has come true for me and music.
Smithers is such a musical town, full of incredible musicians and bands. Gizzy, on the other hand, is not quite so musical.
I kind of took music for granted in Smithers, Thought everywhere was just as musical, but after I moved I realized how lucky I am to have grown up in a place filled with music.
Being away from it, even for the 2 months, has taught me that I need music to be me. I'm not a surfer. I'm not athletic. I'm a drummer. A musician. And without the music, I'm pretty much nothing; A weird 15 year-old with no life.
The few and far between opportunities for me to play help. I got to play in church today, and it felt great. It's where I feel at home, behind the drums, even if I get a bad back from the throne.
Just thought I'd get that out there,

Book Review: Cirrus Flux by Matthew Skelton
The Story of Cirrus Flux was a bit of an in-between book for me. The author wrote just barely excitingly enough for me to keep reading the whole book, but I didn't find it a particularly interesting read. Some of the characters were good and the overall concept of the book was great, but I found that it was simply not very exciting. A great book by this author, though, is Endymion Spring. Much more intruiging.

Good Blogs are supposed to have purpose. I need a good, purposeful blog. I just can't really think of a purpose... I could document every little think I have to say, but nobody really cares about that. I suppose I guess this is just kind of a blog to showcase some of my writing. Anyone else have any ideas as to a purpose for my blog?

Muse
A poem I wrote awhile ago..
It's funny how we work,
Isn't it?
Clutching onto our apparent liberty
Like grim death
Freedom of speech, the self-righteous poet's
Best friend
Yes, we say what we want
Because we're told to
Oxymoronical tomfoolery?
You bet.

Blogs are awfully presumptuous, aren't they? Isn't it bizarre to think that people write about themselves and what they think so others can read it. I suppose it's a way to make us feel special. People love to feel important, at least I do, and I think blogging is a way to give ourselves a little bit of fame. With a bit of luck, our blogs will become popular and maybe become "Blogs of Note," and goodness knows what follows after that.
What I'm listening to: "Morning Light" by Soulive. Great song; kind of reggae-ish (I'm obviously far too white for real reggae, so I have to settle for just reggae-ish music)
Reading: "Pastworld" by Ian Beck. It hasn't totally captured me yet, but I'm going to persevere. I've put the days of giving up on books 4 pages in behind me. It's definitely an intriguing concept; a massive theme park replicating Victorian London.
Cheers,
C.T

Ici Je Suis
We'll see how this goes. I'll post and hopefully someone will read. With a bit of luck it will be someone world famous and powerful. With even more luck that famous, powerful person will take a liking to me and/or my blog and offer me wealth and a record label.
